Privacy Policy

How we handle your data

Overview

TalkKeys is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we handle your data when you use our voice-to-text application.

Data We Collect

  • Account Info: When you sign in with Google, we receive your email and name to identify your account.
  • Usage Data: We track the duration of audio processed to enforce daily limits.

Data We Do NOT Collect

  • Audio: Voice recordings are streamed directly to Groq and are never stored by TalkKeys.
  • Text: Transcribed text is sent directly to your device and not stored on our servers.
  • Clipboard: We never access or store your clipboard contents.

TalkKeys for Outlook

When you use the TalkKeys add-in inside Outlook (read mode or compose mode), the body of the open email or draft is sent over TLS to our backend so the AI can summarize it, suggest replies, rewrite tone, polish, or run a check-before-send. We do not store the email content; the request is forwarded to the inference provider, the response is returned to the add-in, and both copies are discarded.

  • Inference provider: Groq (whisper-large-v3-turbo for voice, gpt-oss-120b for text). Per Groq's policy, prompt and completion data are not used for training and are not retained.
  • Voice (compose mode): Audio is captured locally by the TalkKeys desktop app, streamed to Groq for transcription, and the resulting text is returned to the add-in. The add-in does not record audio in the browser.
  • Outbound calls: The add-in only contacts https://talkkeys.symphonytek.dk and (when running) the desktop app's local Remote Control API at localhost:38450. No third-party trackers or analytics are loaded.

Third-Party Services

  • Google OAuth: For secure authentication
  • Groq API: For speech-to-text transcription
  • Cloudflare: For hosting our backend
  • Stripe: For payment processing (Premium only)
